John has been writing for the theater since 1984. Mostly in devised works where there has been funding available. His work is always visual, creating and using the environment where he presents the pieces as in site specific theatre.
At present he is working on a text for a Shakespearean comedy involving more plot twists than a fun park rollercoaster, also a biographical piece of his brothers tragic life.
RIP Campbell Hudson.
Recently John was involved in a community theater project in Lyttelton, NZ. The show titled "The Pirates of Corsair Bay" involved children in the schools writing pirate stories and then adults from the community performing them. Unfortunately the earthquake on Feb 22nd shattered all possible hope of having the piece performed.
Hopefully in 2012 there will be a possibility to perform the Phoenix Pirate show.
