John has been acting since 1973 when he first smeared on grease paint to fulfil the role of the Artful Dodger in Oliver.  He has since appeared in well over 150 productions ranging from epic Shakespearian shows performed at the Royal Edinburgh Botanical gardens during the Festival, to performing Beckett in provincial theaters in New Zealand. 

He has appeared throughout Germany, Austria, Holland, Switzerland, Northern Italy, Canada, Australia, as well as England and has just completed a tour of the South Island of New Zealand in The Travelling Brain Show.
